Said British Defense Secretary Philip Hammond said his country will reduce the number of troops operating in Afghanistan by about 2,000 troops in the coming months as part of the troop cuts and now taking place from NATO countries.
He said in a speech to the British parliament Wednesday: "As Prime Minister David Cameron in December last year, the British force will reach 5,200 troops by the end of this year, compared to the current level of up to 900.7 troops."
The death toll of British troops in Afghanistan has risen to up to 444 troops so far.
